Seedan Audio Released News

The audio of R. Mohan's (Mith Productions) “Seedan”, produced by Amith Mohan, was released recently. The first CD was released by Latha Rajinikanth in the presence of directors Kasthoori Raja, Lingusamy, Ameer, Vetrimaran, Subramaniam Siva (the film's director), Suhasini and Selvaragavan, along with the cast and crew of the film.

This film stars Dhanush, Krishna, Ananya, Vivek and actor-lyricist Pa. Vijay. Interestingly, Dhanush is not the lead; Krishna and Ananya play the lead. It is music director Dhina's 50th film. At the launch, two songs were screened. The order in which the songs are played is different from the list on the CD cover.

There are six songs in the album, and all are written by Pa.Vijay, except ‘ Enadhu Uyire', a pleasing number written by Ugabharathi and sung by Prasanna and Janaki Iyer. ‘ Yadumaghiye' is a nice piece sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Kavitha Krishnamurthy. ‘Oru Naal Mattum' is am impressive solo by Chitra. ‘Munpani' has been rendered beautifully by Shreya Goshal. ‘Saravana Samaniyal' is sung by Hariharan, interspersed with Dhanush's instructions on how to cook a good meal. ‘Elelo' is by Madhurai Chinna Ponnu, joined by Shankar Mahadevan.

Actress Ananya Talks About Seedan Movie

Actress Ananya just can't stop herself from talking about Seedan, her upcoming film with director Subramaniyam Shiva, at every opportunity she gets. The film, she claims, was a big learning experience. "In both Nadodigal and Seedan, I play a girl everyone can relate to. In this film, I play Mahalakshmi, a girl employed in a huge household. An orphan, she has several commitments in life and has three sisters to take care of. What happens to her is what the film is all about," begins Ananya. The actress says that she has watched Nandanam, the film's original Malayalam version, several times. "Navya Nair got a state award for playing the protagonist. She was brilliant in the original. However, I haven't tried to reproduce her style in this film; rather, I followed Shiva sir's instructions," she says.

In Seedan, she's paired opposite Krishna, a newcomer. But Ananya insists that the actor was anything but that. "He understood his character and performed like a pro," she compliments.Ananya didn't have a release in Tamil last year, but she says Seedan is worth the wait. "I had a lot of expectations for my second film in Tamil. And, getting to work with Shiva and Dhanush was more than I could have asked for. Dhanush was so down-to-earth and he didn't act like he was a senior in the industry. In the film, he plays a cook and instructs me on how to do household chores like cooking and cleaning!" Interestingly, Ananya has won an award at a district-level cookery contest twice by making 53 food items in three hours! "Ironically, Dhanush teaches me how to cook in the film! But then, it was fun seeing him come to the set armed with kitchen tips and new menus every day." On a concluding note, Ananya maintains that she will never take the glam route to stardom. "I've done 13 films in the south Indian film industry and till now, have stuck to my principle of not doing glamorous roles even if I'm paid a bomb. I will do so in the future too and continue to act in meaningful films," signs off the actress.

Yaathe Yaathe from Aadukalam has made a comeback to its position while Yennamo yedho has stepped down to position 2, with less changes thereafter pertaining to the previous week.

1. Yaathe Yaathe (Aadukalam):G.v. Prakash’s Yaathe Yaathe has made a comeback to position 1 with the song for the masses of all centres maintaining its rhythm in full flow.

2. Yennamo Yedho (Ko): Yennamo Yedho by Aalap Raju and Prashanthini has been doing the rounds, since its audio release with Harris Jayaraj and K.V Anand’s combo rendering a beautiful melody, which is a proven fact in the past. Hope the visuals post release would gain even more momentum to the beautiful song.

3. Yaaradhu (Kaavalan): The situational song from Kaavalan with Vijay’s gimmicks in search of his girl has become more adorable and admirable with Yugabarathi’s lyrics to the tunes of Vidyasagar.

4. Aiyayo Nenju (Aadukalam): The mesmerising song of Aadukalam by SPB, SPB Charan and Prashanthini has created magic with the lyrics of Snehan to be hummed by the college goers has made it to the ranking.

5. Ven Paniyae (Ko): The enchanting song from ko is sure to rule top positions of the charts which is soon attracting the youths for its melodic touch of Harris Jeyaraj’s typical number.

6. Sada Sada (Kaavalan): Another song from Kaavalan, more refreshing with Vijay’s dance movements and Karthik’s vocalism adds more energy to the song.

7. Neela Vaanam (Manmadhan Ambu): This will be Kamal Haasan’s ever-cherishing number with more poetic essence in lyrics as well as in visuals in additional to Devi Sriprasad’s score, maintaining the song in ratings.

8. Oththa Sollala (Aadukalam): The song at the right point of time in the movie is being welcomed with huge response in theatres as Dhanush’s casual and effortless movements with vocalist Vel Murugan gets into more of entertaining aspects for the song.

9. Engeyum Kadhal (Engeyum Kadhal): Aalap Raju, Devan and Ranina Reddy rendering their charismatic voice to Harris’s yet another breezy number is amazing with Thamarai’s wonderful penning urges to hear over and over again.

10. Evandi Unna Pethan (Vaanam): Silambarasan with Yuvan has always resulted in hit numbers and so is to ‘Evandi Unna Pethaan’ of Vaanam, but the single track is yet to be afforded by many to make it big to the expectations.

Dhananjayan starts innings at UTV with Irandam Ulagam

MUMBAI: G Dhananjayan, who has just moved from Moser Baer to head UTV's motion pictures business in the south, has taken up his first assignment in a movie titled Erandam Ulagam.

The film will be in Tamil and Telgu. Dhanush and Andrea play the lead pair and the film is being directed by Selvaraghavan.

Avers Dhananjayan, “ Right now I can’t say more about the film except that Selvaraghavan is going to direct the film being made in Tamil and Telugu. UTV is producing the medium-sized film.”
